A Lion is in the Streets
1953
                          Film Facts

This film was a family affair, with Brother William producing, another brother Edward was the story editor and sister Jeanne co-starring. As Hank Martin a backwoods politician Cagney turned in one of his finest performances. Barbara Hale was excellent as his wife. Raoul  Walsh directed Cagney in their fourth film and finale film together.
"Raoul Walsh Direction keeps the film moving briskly and Cagney dominates the film in the grand manner of the 30's, when he was Hollywood's top-tough guy star. Though his looks and sounds are more Broadway than deep south, he is thoroughly persuasive as a fast talking politico equally able to bamboozle a backwoods crowd or to make a deal with Big city Gangsters"
