Filmed at the Ardmore studios in Bray, Ireland, it depicted the 1921 struggle of the I.R.A. to free the Irish people from English rule. Many of Ireland's finest actors, from the famous Abbey theater were used in supporting roles. One of Cagney's best films of his later film career, he was excellent as a surgeon who is involved in the underground movement.
